TORONTO — Weddings.io Technologies, the world's largest multicultural wedding platform and the wedding-industry operating subsidiary of IAM, today announced that when it opens paid access to its platform — expected within days — it will do so as the first wedding SaaS company in the world to have Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) pricing built into its foundation from day one.

The announcement marks a historic moment for the global wedding technology industry, which generates over $300 billion annually worldwide and yet has never, in its history, applied the pricing framework that has driven equitable global growth at companies including Slack, GitHub, and Netflix.

"The best vendors, the best service, and the best content will win on Weddings.io Technologies," the company said in a statement. "Not the ones with the biggest budgets. We are making this commitment before our first transaction because that is the only way to mean it. The level playing field is not a feature we are adding. It is the foundation we are building on."

What PPP Pricing Actually Means

Purchasing Power Parity is an economic framework that adjusts the cost of access to a platform based on local purchasing power — ensuring that the price of entry represents a comparable proportion of income or revenue regardless of where a user is located. For a global SaaS platform, PPP pricing means a wedding photographer in Lagos, a catering company in Mumbai, or a venue operator in Manila can compete on equal terms with vendors in Toronto, London, or Sydney — without paying a disproportionate share of their local revenue to do so.

Research from 2024–2025 shows SaaS companies implementing localized PPP pricing achieve 30% higher growth rates than those relying on uniform global pricing. Slack, GitHub, and Netflix have each credited regional pricing parity as a key driver of their global growth and market penetration in emerging economies.

No wedding technology company has ever applied this framework. As of this release, not one of the major wedding SaaS platforms — including The Knot Worldwide, Zola, or WeddingWire — has adopted PPP pricing at any point in their history.

The Wedding Technology Landscape

The wedding technology sector has historically been dominated by a small number of North American platforms operating with uniform US-dollar pricing structures. The Knot, formerly XO Group Inc. (NYSE: XOXO), was the last major publicly traded wedding company before being taken private in a $933 million merger with WeddingWire in 2019. Since then, there has been no publicly traded pure-play wedding SaaS company in North America or Europe.

Zola, the most prominently funded independent wedding platform, has raised $141 million in venture capital at a $650 million valuation and operates with standard uniform pricing. Matrimony.com, publicly traded on Indian exchanges, serves the South Asian matrimonial market but has not adopted PPP pricing.

Weddings.io Technologies will be the first wedding SaaS company in the world to open to paying customers with PPP pricing as a structural commitment — not a promotional feature, not a future roadmap item, but a foundational element of how the platform is built and priced from its first transaction.

About The Launch

Weddings.io Technologies has operated as the digital cornerstone of the South Asian and multicultural wedding industry since 2015. The platform serves vendors, couples, venues, planners, and guests across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and internationally — with tools spanning vendor discovery, guest management, dietary coordination, seating and scheduling, and the full operational infrastructure of a modern multicultural wedding.

Paid access is expected to open within days. At launch, PPP pricing will apply across vendor listing tiers, ensuring that access to the world's largest concentration of multicultural wedding couples is priced to reflect the economic reality of vendors operating in every market the platform serves.

The global wedding services market, currently valued at $240 billion, is projected to reach $403 billion by 2030 — driven by the multicultural, destination, and personalized wedding segments Weddings.io Technologies was purpose-built to serve.

Significance For The Industry

The commitment has immediate implications for the competitive landscape of the global wedding technology industry. It establishes, for the first time, a pricing standard in the wedding technology sector that accounts for global economic diversity. It creates a measurable benchmark against which other platforms will be evaluated by vendors operating in emerging and developing markets. It signals that the multicultural wedding market — the industry's fastest-growing segment — has a platform specifically built and priced to serve it at scale. And it demonstrates that equitable pricing and commercial viability are not in conflict, consistent with the experience of Slack, GitHub, Netflix, and every other major SaaS platform that has adopted purchasing power parity.

"This is a celebration for every vendor, couple, and planner around the world who has ever felt priced out of a platform that claimed to serve them," Weddings.io Technologies said. "When we open, everyone is welcome — and everyone is on equal footing."
